Managing Partner, Audit Principal

Fausto Hinojosa, CPA, CFE

As the managing partner for Price Paige & Company, Fausto is the head of all audit and forensic consulting engagements and provides strategic leadership for the firm. With 24 years of experience, his practice includes governmental and not-for-profit audit and accounting, fraud investigation and consulting, and litigation support services. He has worked professionally in the accounting field since graduating from Fresno State in 1990, became a Certified Public Accountant in 1994, and became a shareholder with Price Paige in 1997. Fausto has been designated as an expert in fraud in various legal proceedings, having investigated a number of allegations of fraud and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. He has developed significant expertise in the areas of audit risk assessment, governmental and not-for-profit auditing, fraud detection and prevention, federal/state grant compliance, and internal controls.

Fausto is the former chair of the local Government Accounting and Auditing Committee for the California Society of CPA’s and currently serves on the state committee. He is also a reviewer for the Government Finance Officers Association “Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting” program. As the former chair for the State Board of Accountancy Qualifications Committee, Fausto conducted audit work paper reviews of CPA candidates in order to provide licensure recommendations to the State Board.

Believing education and the willingness to keep learning is the key to excellent work, Fausto is a former adjunct professor at Fresno Pacific University where he taught an upper division auditing course. Additionally, he is a frequent lecturer to the California Society of CPAs and other professional organizations, business groups, and civic groups.

Fausto’s first job was hoeing weeds in a cotton field, and while this did not teach him a lot about accounting, it did teach him that you can choose to have a good attitude no matter what kind of work you do. When Fausto isn’t managing the Price Paige team, he likes to go for hikes in Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. He loves to stay active, and would love to be an obstacle course racer—if he wasn’t spending his days in the office. Fausto keeps his brain active by playing board games with his family—though their 12-hour marathon of Clue did leave him a little tired.

Did You Know: Fausto’s wishes came true when bellbottoms came back into style. He said, “It’s not so much for myself… but I would love to see Mitch in them!”
